What to gather before a partnership residence application
The records couples most often have to find twice, and how to keep them together from the start.
Most of the delay I see in partnership applications comes from records that existed all along but were never kept in one place. Start a folder early, and add to it as your life together goes on.
Keep what shows your life together
Couples usually have more than they think: letters to one address, shared bills, photographs over time, messages when you were apart. Date everything, and keep originals.
Explain what is missing
If something cannot be found, say so and say why. An honest gap with an explanation reads better than a thin record with none.

Every relationship is different, and what an application needs depends on your circumstances. A licensed immigration adviser or an immigration lawyer can tell you what yours needs.
